fedex1000 Employees have been laid off by FedEx Corp. in order to meet job cuts. The announcement was made by the package delivery company after a drop of 75% in the earnings. On Friday, the company informed that out of the laid off workers, half of them will be employed in Memphis, where FedEx Express is situated.

Before the layoff, the firm had a total of around 33,000 employees in Memphis alone while around 209,000 workers worldwide. According to the Spokesman Jess Bunn, the layoff will affect all the operation units of the firm. The Spokesman also mentioned that the company isn’t planning any further job cuts.

According to the law called the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, otherwise known as WARN, a company needs to give notice before a layoff or before a plan is shut down.
