Australian jobs rise in September

jobsWhile Americans are still looking for jobs in the poor economy, Australians seem to be a little carefree as new jobs are created in Australia. Statistics showed that the number of employed Australians rose in September.

This is contrary to what a lot of economists believed. This is good news for Australia and its citizens. Most of these new occupied jobs were full-time. This also had a positive impact on the Australian dollar as its value rose to US$0.9 which is the highest since August 2008.

40,600 more people were employed In September. This is the highest monthly employment rate ever since November 2007. Due to this, Australia’s unemployment rate has slipped to 5.7%. The economists believed that the unemployment rate would be 5.9%.

This is really good news for Australians who had been unemployed for the last few months. Hopefully, America will get to see similar results.

I understand that Australia is the first country to raise their interest rate as well. It is good news that things are looking up for them … waiting for the same good news for America.

Well, based in the UK, it appears we are still entrenched in recession whereas others such as the US, Germany and France have moved out. However we hope an increase in economic activity in the Us can only be good eventually for Uk and Europe
